The impact-resistant layer sits concealed behind the panel's fabric facing, so the finished surface retains the same acoustic appearance while offering greater resilience in demanding locations.

Magnetic and High-Impact Acoustic Panels are engineered to combine sound absorption with a concealed functional layer, and their acoustic performance should be considered on that basis.
Concealed Functional Layers Affect Acoustic Openness
The concealed magnetic receiver or impact-resistant layer incorporated behind the fabric facing reduces the acoustic openness of the panel construction compared to a standard Whisper Walls® system. As a result, the standard Whisper Walls® absorber classifications should not automatically be applied to Magnetic or High-Impact Acoustic Panels. Performance is specific to the construction and functional layer selected for the project.
System Depth & Treatment Area Selected to Suit the Project
System depth, format and the extent of treated wall area are selected to suit the acoustic requirement of each space, rather than applied as a fixed specification. These factors are assessed alongside the room's use, surface finishes and the functional demands placed on the wall, so the resulting build-up is matched to the project rather than assumed in advance.
Coordinate With an Acoustic Consultant
Where a minimum absorption performance has been established for a project, this should be coordinated directly with an acoustic consultant. Ace Acoustics works alongside the design team to confirm a suitable build-up against the stated requirement, rather than presuming standard performance data applies.
Fire Performance
Fire Performance
Euroclass B or Euroclass C fire performance can be specified to suit the project requirement. The appropriate tested configuration is selected accordingly, with classification confirmed with reference to BS EN 13501-1. Relevant fire classification documentation is available for the specified system.
